A Path Realigned to Biology

Student: Emma (Grade 10)

School: Dougherty Valley High School, San Ramon

Emma had always been a strong student, but she was struggling in her computer science class. Her father, David, wanted her to persevere, but Emma felt disconnected from the subject matter. After an initial consultation with StrivePath, it became clear that Emma’s real passion lay in biology.

Her consultant helped Emma pivot, recommending a schedule adjustment to include advanced biology and chemistry courses. They also connected Emma with local volunteer opportunities at a wildlife rehabilitation center, where she could see biology in action. This shift not only improved her grades but also reignited her love for learning.

Emma’s transformation was remarkable. She excelled in her new courses and discovered an interest in genetics, leading her to join her school’s Science Olympiad team. David expressed his gratitude, saying, “StrivePath helped us realize that Emma didn’t need to struggle through something she didn’t love. Now she’s thriving in an area where she truly shines.”

This case highlights StrivePath’s ability to realign a student’s academic path with their strengths and interests, ensuring both success and fulfillment.
